Our friend "E", a stay-at-home mom, is going through a rough patch right now. Her husband of ten years and the father of her two small children lost his job, and of course also insurance coverage. Then he came out of the closet and moved his boyfriend into the house. "E" accepted this and tried to adjust because she believed it was best for her children to have their father with them. She believed she could maintain a roommate situation. Then she was diagnosed with cancer of the kidney, it took two months to work out arrangements for surgery because of the lack of insurance. A malignant tumor and 10% of her right kidney was removed at Vanderbilt. The surgeon is confident he got all of the cancer. She was released from the hospital in great pain and on serious pain meds. Her husband decided he would go to California to visit his dying grandmother, his boyfriend went with him. He left her totally alone. One of her sisters, neighbors and her friends have rallied around her and she has gotten good post-op care, and her two small children have been taken care of as well. She has had one post-op middle-of-the-night emergency room visit because she could not stop vomiting. This was a reaction to the pain meds. On her 5th post-op day she received a letter from the bank telling her the house had been foreclosed on and would be auctioned on April 10th. At this point she is ill, broke, homeless, depressed and in bankruptcy. She also wants out of the marriage that has become a sham. She has applied for disability because of the cancer, but that could take months to come through. Meanwhile in a very short time, she will be without a roof over her head. If you can find it in your heart to help her, please do. Every penny that you donate will go to her and her children. Thank you.
